Scrap Pink!

Remember last October when I went "Pink" to support the Susan Komen Foundation and made those cute cards and ducky sets? Well, here is something really neat that Sizzix came up with. This cool die kit is called
"Scrap Pink" and right now, you can find it here locally at J's Knicknacks. Supporting a good cause is a good excuse to purchase one of these special kits. I just got my kit and love it! (of course more so because it's pink!!)
The kit includes: Texture Plate - Inspirational Words/Ribbon, Sizzlits Die - Ribbon, Originals Die - Ribbon, and Simple Impressions Embossing Folder - Ribbon and everything is pink! A percentage of the sales from every kit sold goes to the Susan Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. Let's continue our support for the Susan Komen Breast Cancer Foundation by purchasing "Scrap Pink" ! I can't wait to create with this new kit. Watch for my posts!

Does this look like Aloha?

Monday morning and back at work! Boy, it was tough to convince myself that it was going to be a good day today at work after staying home since Wednesday last week!! I should be rested - not!!
Here's a card I made to send with a hawaiian care package to Nolan's new-found friend that he met on the cruise. One of the stewards that Nolan befriended lives in Indonesia and he has gone home (after a year on the ship). They have been text messaging each other off and on for a year now! I can't believe that it's been one year since we went on the Panama Canal cruise. Anyway, I thought this card sends a tropical hawaiian message (inside says ALOHA). Does this card look like Aloha?? Paper by Pebbles and stamps are from Imaginisce. These are those single clear stamps. These companies are getting smart getting us to think that the stamp is so cheap that we end up buying a whole handful, haha!! I got these stamps and papers from Cute Stuff. I was just there visiting Lianne (Hi Lianne!) and yes, I was naughty... (confession time) I did buy more than just these items you see here! (Jen, I didn't even wait til April!) I hope you're all not tired of seeing my Queen kitty, mochiko, but since getting freedom in the whole house, she's been taking her naps in various new places. Look where she found to nap yesterday - Nolan's bed! We went to the market in the afternoon and came home to find Goldilocks sleeping in baby bear's bed!
I know I said that I would be announcing my deets for my blog candy giveaway, but I didn't have time to think of what the candies would be! My March class was yesterday, so I will be posting pics of the projects. We made a mini acetate scrapbook, a peek-a-boo card and a suspension card (Thanks Dawn for the inspiration!!)
I love when you share a part of day with me!

Some fun with a new sizzix die!

Double post to catch up!!

I'm sure you all know how hard it is to walk into any craft store and not have your wallet twitching just waiting to buy something! I am NOT alone!! Well, went into J's to pick up my acetate sheets the other day and I tried hard to not look at anything else!! I thought I was doing good by resisting all of these new goodies that are hitting the stores after CHA, but look who bought a new die??? This is the pillow box die and it is super cute! To me, the size is just right and I am planning to use this in a future class. Here's what I made with my new pillow box die. I thought I'd better use one of the new stamp sets that I just bought after seeing sooooo many cute projects posted. This set is called Pun Fun. I just love this birdie!

Project details: Stamp set: Pun Fun, DS paper: Cutie Pie and Prints Designer Series certainly celery. Cardstock: Purely Pomegranate, Barely Banana. Stampin write markers: Barely Banana, Green Galore, Pumpkin Pie. Word window punch, scallop circle punch and 1 3/8" circle punch.

I am working on all kinds of goodies for my BIG blog candy giveaway! It's been such a long time! I'm celebrating my 1 year blogaversary and my 250th post! Yippee! I'll announce the details on how you can win in my next post!!

Big Dog gift card

Aloha Saturday! It's been a while, but I had to discipline myself and finish those kits!! What a tough choice that was to stay off of the blogs but making a commitment to do those kits was a priority for me!
Here's a cute and simple gift card holder that I made the other day. I love these cute and easy to make holders!
Here's the inside. I decided to try something different and used velcro for the closure instead of a ribbon.
project details: stamps: Big Dog by Eat Cake Graphics (my new stamp I bought from Cute Stuff); Standing Terrier Pup by Whipper Snapper and Wonderful Day by Printworks. Dotted Swiss Cuttlebug Embossing folder, caramel gingham ribbon by SU, mini brads by SU. Cardstock: old olive and ballet blue. Word window punch and 3/4" circle punch; velcro.
I am so behind on everything now, but the good news is, I'm done with the kits! So if you have ordered a kit, I will be emailing you if you requested for pick up and for the others who requested the kits to be mailed, I will be doing that today, if not, Monday. Have a great Saturday!!

Bugs!

Here's a card I made using Allison's suggestive sunday theme - Bugs! This cute guy is from the Bugs and Kisses set. I had an idea in my mind and then was disappointed when I stamped the lil' guy cuz he wasn't standing out like I pictured him to be. (Why is it a boy caterpillar?, I keep saying "he"...oh well). Then I decided to try coloring in the eyes in black and I kept going. Pretty soon, the whole darn caterpillar was dotted with black. That's okay, he turned out pretty okay. card ingredients:
stamp set: bugs and kisses
paper: bali breeze, tempting turquoise and pumpkin pie cardstock
miscellaneous: apple green grosgrain ribbon, felt flowers, rhinestone brads

Look who's back?? One of Mochiko's favorite spots to sit. That's why my work space gets smaller and smaller. She's not a large cat either!
Have a terrific Tuesday! Tonight I have alot of work to do yet on my monthly class kits. I didn't realize that it was more work than I thought it would be. For those of you who ordered my kit, bear with me...the kits will be ready soon! I'm on the stamping part right now :)

Awww, more raks!

I got this pretty card from Wini's daughter, Dawn. Thank you Dawn!! The cuttlebug swirls really added to this already pretty card and my favorite color too!!

Here's a rak I received from my bff Jen. A thank you note for her lil' birthday gift and my Valentine's rak that was returned to her :( THANK YOU! I loved both of the raks! Isn't this image of the turtle sweet?? Another Whipper Snapper image. Love the coloring sister!!
Hey!, BTW, have you all heard about the new crop-a-dile called the Big Bite?? I really love my crop-a-dile even if I have the "old" one, the pink one. I'm still debating on getting this new tool, just trying to justify it so I don't feel guiilty is what it is! Ha! TAC (The Angel Company) features this hot new item in their catalog so if you are interested in getting it at 50% off, you gotta run over to Jen's blog and click on herTAC link to find out how easy it is to get the Big Bite for 50% off! BTW, did you all see Allison's new card challenge? It's bugs! I can't wait to create a bug card! The bugs featured on Alli's card was from TAC - is it still available Jen?? Too cute!

Happy Monday everyone! Thanks for sharing a bit of your day with me! We have another holiday coming up this Wednesday! Kuhio Day! It's a state holiday!!

Easter Wishes to all of my friends!

Happy Easter everyone!! I hope you all had a wonderful day. I was MIA yesterday because my downline girls were here to do our monthly projects. This month, we made two specialty cards (peek a boo card and suspension card) and a mini scrapbook using acetate as the pages and DS paper from the Jersey Shore collection. I love that paper pack because it's so bright and cheery!! I'll reveal the projects after next week's customer class. I don't want to spoil it for the ladies that will be attending. For those of you who ordered kits, they are almost done and I will try to get them out by the end of the week, then I will be emailing you the photos and links to complete the projects. Thank you for making my first month's offering of kits a success! Thanks to Wini for staying late and helping me finish up the kits. Wini just got back from vacation and I tell ya, I miss this woman! She is my right hand lady! Every time I do a scrapbook of some sorts, I go super crazy. Soooo many pieces per page, it's insane! My friend Shannon told me yesterday that I am crazy! Hey, I may be crazy, but you guys love the projects!! haha!!
Moving on...here's a Easter rak I got from sistah Cheryl M. Isn't this darling? Hey Cheryl! I shortened the handles a bit! :) Thank you for this sweet surprise! Isn't the cupcake sweet?? Love the sparkle on the cupcake, oh so pretty!
Here's the only thing I made this Easter. I made these cute match book treats, about 20 of them. Most of them went to my friends at the Hawaii State FCU. The treat? M&M's fun size candies! Got this wonderful idea from my sweet friend Dawn Griffith. She is so talented! If you haven't been over to see all of her fantastic projects on her blog, hop on over there now! She also just opened up a new blog for all of her awesome video tutorials. I tell you, this girl is my idol!

Happy Easter all! I hope to be back with more ideas this week! Have to tell you, I'm super exhausted! The day started out good - had my nails done this morning - did I tell you that I am spoiled too? My manicurist comes to my house every two weeks! Reni makes my nails look so pretty! And can you believe it that after I go and have my nails look fabulous, I had to do all of these chores - washed 5 tubs of laundry, clean my workroom putting away all of the tools and such from yesterday's gathering and clean up mochiko's house and bedding, then to top it off, cook dinner. We had pork filled oven baked chimichangas, yummy! I always try to make dinner special on the weekends cuz during the week, there's no time! I am so ready to shower and hit the pillow!! I think I just ruined my nails! geez - gotta touch them up before I sleep :) I'll stop blabbing right here. Thanks for stopping by today! I hope your Easter was a blessed one!!

ooh-la-la!

Is what thought when I saw this cute poodle image. Isn't she sassy? Looks like she's ready to go shopping! Well, here's the last of the new WS images I recently bought. I loved coloring these images and then the challenge of finding the right papers to go with it! Supplies:
Stamps: Fancy Fifi, whipper snapper; woof! by All Night Media
Ribbon: American crafts
Paper: DP: 3 bugs, stampin up. Cardstock: wild wasabe, chocolate chip, very vanilla
Ink: Pretty in Pink, Rose Red, Close to Cocoa
Miscellaneous: mini brads by Lasting Impression, aqua painter

Is this cute or what?? Our office gals love to bargain hunt and Ross is one of our favorite places. Look what my boss found for me! Isn't this the cutest? The bench lifts up so you can put treasures in it. I found a matching basket too! This will sit at my desk for a while because it makes me smile everytime I see it! Okay ladies, if you're thinking of looking for some of these, I'm not sure which Ross has any. We combed through downtown, Keeaumoku, Ward...a few more to search.
More pics of the Queen. She kept me company while I cut paper for my class kits. The ol' "rest your chin on the basket" pose.
"who disturbed me?" That's the thought I see running through her mind :)
Happy Aloha Friday!! It's Good Friday today so no work for me. We're off to the Bishop Museum for a fun day!! Then, a MUST to finish my kits!!!! I'm the best procrastinator you know, where's my award? haha!! See you all tomorrow! I'm posting Easter goodies.

Sweet!

I'm just loving my Whipper Snapper stamps! Here's one called Heart Strawberry 'n Mouse. I used the sentiment "sweet!!" that by Stampendous. The paper I'm using is from a SU scrapbook kit called Special Delivery Girl. I colored the mouse 'n strawberry using my ink refills and the aqua painters.

Nolan and I had a fun day out yesterday. We ran all over the place - ate lunch at Ala Moana Center, then we went to Shirokiya to check out the Japanese food samples. They were making Tako Yaki. I'm not a tako (octopus) fan, but Nolan wanted to get this so bad. We tried out the new Mochi Cream mochi - yummy! I ate a chocolate banana mochi and Nolan had the chocolate cream. This was premium mochi and super takai (expensive!) We paid $1.50 for each one! Other fun stuff we did? We went to J's Knicknacks to check out the new products (for me) and Nolan browsed at sportscards. Ladies, if you are looking for the new Sizzix dies, they are in! Cuttlebug items were low but more are on it's way! Can you believe that I finally bought a bottle of stickles?? I used to own a bunch, but back then, they just called it glitter glue - haha! I have since given those away, bummers.
Well, on our way home, Nolan suggested to me that I can go to check out Cute Stuff. I think he was up to something, always seems like that when he makes suggestions to go places where he knows I can't refuse!! Okay, there wasn't much arm twisting for me to agree that that was a good idea :) So, we went to visit my good friend Lianne (Hi Lianne! are you smiling???). Wow! Hanna Stamps, Elzybells stamps, the new Changito stamps and many more new stamps that just arrived!! I bought a "few" things and we were on our way home, both of us were happy!
Hope you all have a great Thursday! Aloha Friday tomorrow - double yippee! it's a holiday too! Going to go the Bishop Museum Animal Grossology event with Nolan and then start jamming on finishing my class kits! Demonstrator girls are coming over for their monthly inspiration!

Brrr, a winter card to share

Happy Wednesday everyone!! I took the day off to spend some time with Nolan. He's on spring break for 2 weeks! I've been busy in my little workroom creating cards with my new Whipper Snapper stamps. I just love the new images that I bought and just wanted to share them with you! Here's one called "Warm Penguin". Isn't he adorable?? I know alot of you are so ready for Spring to get here, but I couldn't wait til Winter to show this little guy off!The designer paper already came with some stars on it but I wanted to add more. My sweet friend, Joyce, gave some of us a bunch of this sugar coated cardstock by Doodlebug Designs; isn't this perfect? I used a piece of silver cord to add some interest. I used glue dots to hold down the cord and a dimensional behind the stars so the stars would "pop" out. I thought this turned out pretty well.
Here's a close-up of the star - can you see the shiny glitter? This cardstock is really cool because the whole piece is covered with "sugar" and it is so sparkly! love it!!
Supplies used: Designer paper by Frances Meyer, tempting turquoise and green galore cardstock. Stamp by Whipper Snapper: Warm Penquin and word stamp by The Cat's Pajamas: Baby, it's cold outside. Large and small star punches by SU, Sugar coated cardstock by Doodlebug Designs.
Thanks for stopping by today!
Oh!, last thing, I wanted to share something funny with you. My cat Mochiko has been very comfortable about being in the whole house other than my craft room and the other night, I was so engrossed in making cards that I lost track of her. I combed the whole house calling for her and this is where I found her - sleeping on my dad's recliner! - busted! Sorry I disturbed you O' Queen!
Here's another shot of her after I so disturbed the royal highness! It's a good thing mom and dad are getting used to her being around. She's actually a really good kitty.

Girly gift card holders

Thank goodness I forgot to post these giftcard holders that I made for my boss for her nieces. I haven't been able to create much since trying to finish prepping for my demonstrator and customer classes and to top it off, this weekend I spent a bunch of time baking brownies and chi chi dango mochi for our bake sale to benefit the Hawaii Foodbank. Girl's Day is celebrated on March 3rd. I just love these cute stamps and can never get tired of these sweet Japanese girls by Juju's Tiny Treasures! I got these stamps from Cute Stuff and although Juju's got a new name for her stamps, the images are still super cute. I got the idea from a card I saw in the SU idea book & catalog (using the scallop circle punch in between the stamped image).
Here's the inside of the holder. You can easily slip a gift card in the center. I love the little stamps by Dandelion Designs. Jean from Dandelion Designs sent me these stamps and I just love them! (thank you jean!!).
Supplies for the holders: cardstock - pretty in pink and summer sun, the design paper is from the prints paper pack sampler (trying to use the scraps!), mustard grosgrain ribbon, light pink gingham ribbon, word window punch and 1/2" circle punch, stamps: Juju's Tiny Treasures, Dandelion Designs (dragonfly and background).
Well, thanks for dropping in. I'm heading off to bed and it's only 7:30! Had only like 3 hours of sleep since I woke up at 2 AM to cook the rice for my spam musubi's!

A card for Allison's kitty card challenge

Double post tonight! I forgot that tomorrow is the last day to submit a card for Allison's card challenge using a cat stamp. Here's another adorable stamp I got from Whipper Snapper. I stamped the word Friend using white craft ink. That stamp is from the hostess set For a Friend. Isn't it such a cute stamp? The button is from the love elsie line. It's one of those self-adhesive buttons. I layered it on a 3/4" circle that I punched out in pretty in pink.

Inking up my new Whipper Snapper stamps!

Happy birthday to my friend Raelene! Sorry I was a bit late in sending these wishes to you - blame it on my funky mood :( Anyway, got some new Whipper Snapper stamps and just had to ink them up! I think it was these stamps that brought me back into the mood for creating. Don't you love this cute mouse? DS papers are leftovers from last year's hostess scrapbook set called Friends and Flowers. I love these papers! Photo corner punch and mini silver brads accent the card. Used my SAB Birthday Whimsy for the inside sentiment as well as the envelope.
Ever had trouble finding the right gift to alter? Here I was (again) hunting for something to alter to give to Raelene. Finally found this cute shadow box frame at Price Busters. I used the Love & Happiness rub-ons (another SAB item).
Here's a close-up of how the rub-ons. This frame included 3 flower push pins and this cute charm. I printed out Raelene's name using a computer font and stamped the flower.
Here's the gift all wrapped up and ready to be delivered! Used a SU gift bag and since I was in a rush to wrap & go, I found this leftover paper and tied a ribbon over it, turned out not too bad!
Can't believe Saturday is winding down. Nolan played his first soccer game for the select season today. It was so nice to see him get back into his keeper position. Ever since he got injured last year, it's been injury one after another. Although he now has tendonitis in his knee, he just wanted to get back into the game and he had a great game stopping every ball that came his way. Way to go son! Hope you all had a fantastic Saturday! One more day of rest and then back to work! Thanks for stopping by and for bearing with my absence!

I love surprises!

Wowee! That sums up on how I feel about my surprise! I'm sure you all couldn't miss my new banner. So, what do you think?? My island sistah, Jen surprised me with a custom banner. She's Mrs. Electronic you know- loves electronic devices and software, etc. more than jewelry and clothing...I'm the opposite! Thank goodness for her and her inquisitive mind always figuring out these computer things for me. Sister, THANK YOU!

Blogging blues

I've got the blogging blues and I don't know how it happened! What has come over me the past week is strange and I haven't been in the mood for blogging or creating. How could that be?? Possibly all of the extra stress from a pre-teen child and problems with homework?? I'm sure some of you can relate. Could it be the additional stress of having too much on my little plate?? Well, whatever the reason is, it happened and I've been feeling overwhelmed, tired and frustrated. Thank goodness for my friends. I've been getting happy mail so, after a week of absence (thank you to those who noticed I was MIA!) I'm back to at least post and acknowledge these sweet gals for the awesome raks. I received this rak from Dottie Kinnear. She was my gal to rak for JT's aloha monthly rak for February. This card is beautiful as there were so many different pieces to it! Love the ribbon. Thanks Dottie! I hope you read this dottie (since you don't have a blog).
Got this rak from Cheryl M. a while back and totally forgot to post it. I bought this Bella for Cheryl for Christmas. Cheryl can't pass up a good shoe sale, well, maybe not even on sale. She has a thing for shoes! Do you have more than Emelda? haha!, just kidding. I love the ovals on this card and the blings too, but sorry girl, I can't get used to these colors just yet :) Oh!, BTW, check out Cheryl's new banner on her blog here. The talented Ms. Jen made this for her when Cheryl's banner disappeared mysteriously. Fabulous job sister!
I met Denise on the blogs. Denise is an island gal and she has been a "regular" on my blog - thanks Denise!! She finally started her own blog! Stop by and say hello to her and send her some hugs. Check out her blog here. Denise sent me this package of raks...wow! That was so sweet of you!! I appreciate this wonderful surprise!
I got this little surprise from my friend Joy. Isn't this cute? It's a cute mini post-it holder. Love the monogram on it! Thanks for thinking of me Joy!!

Last, but definately NOT least, got this surprise in the mail from Shannon McGann from Canada. This card is super neat! It folds and tucks into place. Love it!! But I didn't get only one rak, I got TWO! Here's the other fabulous rak Shannon made for me. It's a mini photo album using the clear envelopes for pages. Love this! I forgot how much I really loved the Baroque Motifs stamp set! Thank you Shannon!! This was truly a surprise and I love it!! BTW, check out Shannon's blog here!
Thanks for all of your comments and for visiting me. I hope my blogging blues is over and that this short absence was just temporary and that I'll get my mojo back so I'll have more fun things to share with you!

Birthday cards

Happy Girl's Day everyone!! March 3rd is Girl's Day. Nolan and I made 2 pans of mochi yesterday to share. Yum! Today, I have birthday cards to share. I can never seem to have enough birthday cards on hand!! So many birthdays to celebrate!! I finally broke down and bought Big Bold Birthday. I don't know why it took me so long to get this set! Cutie Pie DS paper.
Here's a birthday card I made and sent to one of my downline, Alyson. Love this sassy changito. The photo is a little on the dark side, but the embellishment is a metal piece by making memories (I think) and it says "sassy" on it. I need to get off of the computer and make more cards! Have a great Monday everyone!

Impossible lunch date & a card for Allison's challenge

With our busy, busy work schedules, we're finding it harder and harder to have some spare time to take a decent lunch hour with each other. Darcie, Jean C. and I used to be able to meet once a month for lunch and share a couple of projects. Seems like now days, we can only squeeze time to meet quarterly! Well, I guess we take what we can get huh. We were finally able to squeeze in a girlfriend lunch hour this past week so I wanted to share with you the projects that we did. Before I share that, I wanted to share with you this beautiful project Darcie created for her wedding favors. She decorated DVD tins using SU's four seasons designer series paper. Here's the front of the tin. Darcie loves snowflakes, so that's the reason why she used it for her cover. Look at all of the details - good gracious girlfriend, you are crazy!!Here's the inside of the tin. On the left (green) it's a pocket and a bookmark in the pocket. To the right (yellow) she has a 2008 calendar pasted in there with the date of her wedding marked (Feb 2).

Here's the back of the tin. OMG, I can't believe that she made over 100 of these babies. Although I didn't attend her wedding, I was a lucky recipient of one of these cool favors! Thanks Darcie.

Here's the project I brought to share. Another joyfold card. I know, I'm on this joyfold card kick - sorry if you're sick of seeing these cards! I promise to learn a new card so I can move onto something else :) I just had to ink up my new stamp by Elzybells that I bought from Cute Stuff. Other ingredients for this card: almost amethyst, lovely lilac and certainly celery cardstock, I'm using up the papers from the sampler bought last year some time and Cutie Pie DS papers. Ribbon I got from cousin Pam (thanks!), SAB stamp from So Many Scallops and the center is from the hostess level 1 set called Make it Count. I'm also gonna submit this to Allison's Stampin' When I can card challenge. She challenged everyone to make a girly card (girl stamps). Check out Allison's fun blog here for the latest and greatest links and her awesome work! (Hi Alli!)
Here's the project Jean brought to share. Jean is a CTMH consultant and where I get all of my CTMH goodies from. Isn't this card cute?? Reminds me of the criss cross card.
Here's a view of the card inserted in the pocket. Cute, huh!?! Thanks ladies for a fun lunch hour! Hopefully it won't be three months before we can get together again!!

Thanks for stopping in today!!
